The remaining humans emerged from their Arks
and hoped to reclaim a cleansed world that
was never to be. Now they face the hatred
and contempt from the Biomeks and Mutants.
To preserve humanity, the humans rely on a
mixture of genetic engineering to enhance
themselves – which can result in superhuman
physical and mental abilities – and through
specialized anti-contaminant shielding
technology as well as access to orbiting
satellites. The Humans’ central belief is
that true humanity must be preserved at any
cost.

Born and changed through the alien
contamination, then left to fend for
themselves when the Humans attempted to
cleanse the world, the Mutants revel in
their relationship with the new Contaminated
world with religious zeal. Hence they feel
the Humans are evil heretics, while the
Biomeks are seen as their historical
oppressors. Mutants augment their existing
technology with newfound abilities to
manipulate the power of the Contamination to
their own needs, including phase-forming
effects and the ability to control mutated
flora and fauna.

Their predecessors created to fight the
Mutants, the Biomeks have thoroughly
embraced technology and intellect to survive
in the post-apocalyptic world, searching to
spread their organic and inorganic
perfection through any means necessary. They
feel the Humans had committed the ultimate
betrayal, abandoning them to their fate,
while the Mutants are their natural enemy.
At the root of Biomek technology is nano-robotics,
which supplies them with a large number of
offensive and defensive capabilities as well
as utilizing efficient, multi-purpose
vehicles.
