With its sleek design, black color, and glowing blue grips, the Razer Copperhead is a nice addition to anyone’s gaming computer. The main specs on this mouse are:
- Seven programmable buttons and can be used by either the right or left hand. I think this is the first time I have seen a truly ambidextrous mouse. Users can select a string of up to five keys to be pressed with one mouse button, it makes it easy to create a macro for your favorite game, like weapon changes or special combo moves.
- 32KB onboard memory powered by Razer Synapse makes it possible to take custom profiles wherever the mouse goes, no need for drivers or software, and it compadible between platforms (like Macs and Pcs).
- Up to 2000pdi laser engine powered by Razer Precision. Let me tell you, it is fast! My roommate used my computer to print something, and she had a hard time at first getting used to the speed and keeping her eye on the mouse as it moved.
- Can detect over 7080 frames per second, which goes along with it being fast!
- Five customable profiles: Each of the five profiles gets consecutively faster, I guess more advanced, the dpi speed increases. There is a handy button on the bottom of the mouse that can be pressed to switch profiles. The mouse will blink the number of times that corresponds with the profile number chosen, so if you click the button once to profile 2, the mouse will flash two times. Any of the mouse buttons can be set to change the profiles as well, or you can go into the profile manager program and switch them from there.
- 16-bit data channel at 1000HZ and 1ms response rate
- Laser sensor never powers down, making mouse reactions instant so gamers never lose a second to hardware.
- Personalize weights and buttons for those who know exactly how they want their mouse to work, parts can be ordered on the Razer website.
The driver control window is kind of hard to read (visually, not mentally) but very straight forward in what the options are. Maybe just make it so it can be resized larger for people with bad eyesight.
The Copperhead will be available in three colors: Tempest Blue, Chaos Green and Anarchy Red, and carry an expected MSRP of $79.99. Detailed product features and specifications are available at http://www.razerzone.com
